Australian DRIVEN Charger Rebate Stream Overview
The Federal Government’s DRIVEN Charger Rebate Stream offers rebates to eligible Australian licensed motor dealers and repairers for purchasing and installing eligible smart EV chargers and was created to increase the number of EV chargers nationwide to support the transition to electric vehicles.
The DRIVEN program will run over 4 years from 2024-25 to 2027-28. The program was announced as part of the Driving the Nation Fund. The Australian Government will provide $40 million to co-fund the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at eligible Australian automotive dealerships and repairers across the country, including regional and remote areas.
A rebate amount of up to $2,500 per eligible charger installed, with a maximum rebate of $20,000 per site, and is open to Australian licensed motor dealers, service centres, and automotive repair businesses that meet the eligibility criteria.
